Happy Martin Luther King Day from the Black Comix Arts Festival (BCAF)! The PixiboardTM team had a great time at the new annual event which is part of the NorcalMLK Foundation's year-round efforts to extending Dr. King’s vision by helping people to connect to community and to service.
If you are a comic book freak and you somehow did not make it to this free event, you pretty much/kind of/most definitely missed out. Several comic book and graphic novel artists (you should know the difference) displayed their work during the event. Erika Alexander, that chick Maxine from 'Living Single', was there to show off her graphic novel Concrete Park. Kevin Grevioux, the badass werewolf with the deep voice from Underworld (yes, that is his real voice), exposed his comic series. And there was also Amandla Stenberg from the Hunger Games. Rue? I guess? I don't know; I don't watch the Hunger Games.
If you purchased or sold a pixi this month, pat yourself on the back because you have contributed to an amazing charity. If you haven’t bought or sold something on Pixiboard this month, yet, there is still time! You have five (5) more days to shop local and give back. Please join us in this great cause.

As you probably can tell from the photos, we had a blast. Besides celebrity spotting, it was even more amazing to see the efforts the NorcalMLK Foundation makes to educate and inform people on Dr. King's vision. We had a chance to talk to many inspiring people and we very excited to support this organization. Remember that for the month of January, 10% of our revenue is being donated to the NorcalMLK Foundation.
